31-1-16. Today is the First UK Academic Conference on Pavel Haas. At the Cardiff University, School of Music. Point was raised that Haas was Overshadowed by the Holocaust. My View is that Pavel Haas,s Music, is that Good. It Stands Alone on its Own Merit.

He will Alway,s be Linked with Terezin & The Holocaust. His Time in Terezin. The Music He Composed. He was Seen in Film. Taking a Bow. After the Hans Krasa Opera " Brundibar ". The Propaganda Film " The Fuhrer Gives the Jews a City ". Directed By German Jew, Kurt Gerrom. Film was used by the Nazi,s. To Deceive a Swiss Red Cross Visit. After the Film. A Great number of Jews. Were Transported to Auschwitz - Birkenau. Which Included Haas & Friend Conductor, Karel Ancerl. Ancerl was in Line to Be Gassed. Pavel Haas Feigned Coughing. Haas was Deemed to be Weak. As Regards Work Duty. Haas Replaced Ancerl in the Gas Chamber. Ancerl Survived. To Tell The Tale. Plus He Divorced His Wife, Sonia Jakobson. So She would Not Share the Same Fate. Because of this he will be Associated with the Holocaust. What I will say, Because of this. His Music was Showcased. To People who May Never have Heard it.

So after the Hopbunker. I make Way up the Busy North Road. To Cardiff University Concert Hall. Being Early Enter through Wrong Door. This has Unexpected Results. I See the Graffe Quartet, From Brno in Rehearsal. Just them, a Percussion Player. Plus Martin Curda.

Martin is a Graduate of Masaryk University, Brno. Martin in a Final - Year PHD. At Cardiff University, School of Music. Martin will be Presenting a Slide Show. Along with Tonight,s Concert. He will also be Describing in Great Detail. The Music Played Tonight.

Leave to Enter Correct Door. Receive Free Program. Recognize Familiar Faces. Some from the Dvorak Society. Concert Starts with Pavel Haas. String Quartet NO 2. " From the Monkey Mountains " ( 1925 ). First Part " Landscapes ". Evoking Moravian Countryside. Martin So Involved in Music. When Walking in Moravian Forests. When Hearing Bird Song. Straight Away thinks of Janacek. Haas was Known as Leos Janacek,s Best Student in Brno. Part Two " Horses & Carriages ". Example of Music. Sounding like a Horse. Slow third Piece. " The Moon & I ". To finish with Jazz, Roaring 20,s Theme. Picture was Shown of German Artist Wihelm Heinrich Otto Dix. Haas was also Influenced by Bengal Poet & Exoticism. Really Liked the Jazz Theme. Interval is Reached.

Talk to a number of People. Including Dave Roberts from the Dvorak Society. Second Half Begins with Pavel Haas String Quartet No 3 ( 1937-38 ). With Commentary again By Martin Curda. Its Not easy Public Speaking. Even if you are a Expert in a Certain Field. Parts include Ghosts, Shadows & Windmill Scene. Influenced by Haas Charlatan Opera & Jewish Chants. Reminds Me of Oi Va Voi, Band I Really Like. His Brother Hugo Haas. Was a Film Actor. Intrigued with Film of Sokol, July, 1938. The Graffe Quartet Play with Much Brilliance. Nice to See Many Young Students. Listening to this Music. Must End. If Martins Presentation is Anything like the Rest of His PHD Course. He Will Pass with Flying Colours.
