TODAY WE DIE A LITTLE.

In My School Days. Was a Member of the Hallamshire Harriers. Maybe Because Of Seb Coe !. Enjoyed Road Running. So Did a Few of My School Teachers. While Reading the Independent. Was Attracted to Richard Askwith,s New Book. Richard is a Avid Runner. Plus a Former Independent Journalist. Author of " Feet in the Clouds ". His New Book is " The Rise & Fall of Emil Zatopek. Olympic Legend. Today We Die a Little ".

Book Title Eludes to Quote from Emil. Before the Olympic Marathon in Australia. In Blazing Heat !. Zatopek,s Greatest Accolade Among Many. Was Winning the 5000, 10,000 Metres + Marathon. In the Helsinki Olympics. His World Records, Emils Humanity & Training Methods. Superb to Say the Least.

Zatopek Had Many Critics. Very Unfair, I Think. People in Czechoslovakia. Had to Make Many Decisions. Some You Would Prefer Not To. Though You Had to Live, in These Times. People Not in This Situation. Cannot Make a Valued Judgement.
Emil,s Running Style was Not Pretty. But Same Could be Said of Paula Radcliffe.

When in Exile. He Worked for a Small Drilling Team. It Was Very Hard Work. Emil Once When He Was in Trouble. Went To Ground in The Sporilov. Area I know Through the Prvni Pivni Tramway !. Plus With His Devoted Wife, Dana. Built & Lived in Another Lovely Praha Area, Troja.

None of Emil,s Rival,s. Have a Bad Word for Him. Book is Very Well Written. Loved The Book,s Epilogue. Author Runs in the Annual Koprivnice Run. Visits Emil,s Grave. Which is Just Dust & Ashes.
On The Eve of the Rio Olympics. Plus with The UK. Excited About the Olympian Mo Farah. Never a Better Time To Buy & Read This Book. Thoroughly Recommended.
